The archaearium exibition tells the story of the founding years of Jamestown as seen through the eyes of the people who lived her and the artifacts they left behind. Archaearium is a new work meaning "A place of beginnings" that was created to describe a one-of-a-kind place. It's a museum for the archaeolgical findings of the Jamestown Rediscovery project's excavations Historic Jamestowne. These excavations, on the 22 acres of Jamestown Island, began in 1994 and have succeeded in finding James Fort, the highly important archaeological site relating to America's colonial past.
